NEW BD Series
Brushless Drone Servo Motors: BD10 and BD20 COMING SOON
Motion for demanding drone environments – Meet Hitec’s two NEW BD (Brushless Drone) Series Servo Motors
With the two distinct servo solutions BD10 and BD20, you get two ultra-light and powerful servo motors optimized for very different mission profiles even though they share the same core DNA – brushless drive, contactless magnetic encoder, and DroneCAN / CAN control.
Weighing just 11.8 g, the BD10 delivers precise motion and fast response in weight-critical drone applications. It combines a compact footprint with high efficiency and advanced case and gear materials that provide outstanding heat resistance, mechanical strength, and chemical durability. These material properties ensure reliable operation even in harsh and challenging environments.
The BD20 on the other hand, weighing 70.0g, is built for maximum torque with more than twenty times the stall torque of the BD10. Designed for harsh operating conditions, it’s exceptionally robust due to its hardened steel geartrain. An IP67 rating provides full protection against dust and water ingress.
Both servo solutions offer an innovative servo platform, covering everything from lightweight precision motion to high-torque, mission-critical actuation. This makes the BD series a flexible solution for modern UAV systems with varying performance and environmental requirements.

Important Technical Information
Hardware type: PC USB-C interface to 3-pin (PWM/TTL) and 4-pin (RS-485/CAN) connections
Functionality: Configuration and testing of HITEC digital servo actuators
Protocol support: PWM, RS-485, CAN, and DroneCAN for maximum flexibility
Software note: Different servo actuator series require dedicated user interfaces due to variations in communication protocols
Power supply:
Servo actuators from the 5/7 Series, 9 Series, and D/MD Series must be connected to the 3-pin port
External power must be supplied via the BAT- and BAT+ pins on the 4-pin port, observing correct polarity
Detailed wiring diagrams can be found in the Operating Instructions.
